Fine Arts Update 4/7/20

What’s new in POPCS Fine Arts?

 

Fine Arts Classes

Upper and Middle School Fine arts Classes have moved to Zoom.

  • Culinary Arts Students are cooking with their families!
  • Theatre Classes are doing virtual workshops, Quarantine Cabarets and designing lights!
  • Art classes are doing college level work!
  • Choir is performing solos for each other and learning about composers!

Lower School classes such as music and art have been directed into their homerooms.

 

The Arts School

Group lessons are on hold

Individual lessons have moved to virtual platforms and are still happening daily.

POP Players is now meeting virtually on Zoom:

  • Grades K-2. Mondays 12:30-1:00
  • Grade 5, Wednesdays 10:00-11:00
  • Grades 3-4, Wednesdays 12:30-1:30

Art Adventures may get moved to a summer camp. Details coming soon

 

Fine Arts Clubs

POPTC Drama Club will meet via zoom starting this week

Middle School Art Club is meeting via Zoom starting next week

Yearbook is still in production.  Please go to Edmodo announcements to see what Ms. Lawson and the Yearbook team need from you to make the yearbook amazing as always!

5th Grade Band via Zoom starting next week

Eagle’s Wings Choir via Zoom starting next week

Other fine arts clubs are on hold for now.

  • POP Players performances during Zoom class time instead of evening performances
  • POPTC Awards Gala 
  • DSM High School Musical Theatre Awards  
  • Schmidt & Jones Awards 

Postponed as of now:

  • Songs I’ll Never Sing Dessert Cabaret and Master Classes 
  • Fine Arts Showcase

Cancelled:

  • PSIA One Act Play Competition
  • TAPPS Fine Arts competitions
  • 2nd Grade musical
  • Junior Directs are cancelled and will be combined next year as Senior & Junior Directs
